Our company hires about 9 locals during our peak seasons.
Opened originally in 2000 by Giddings Company, LLC. The theater was bought out on January 1, 2006 by Goen Enterprises, Inc. when the previous owners decided to retire.
On September 5, 2014 - We closed our doors to get the mandatory digital upgrade. Our last two movies shown in the 35mm Film Format were Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Planes: Fire and Rescue. Movie posters Shown below.
On November 7,2014 - We reopened our doors with upgraded Sound, Picture and Seats. The first 2 Movies Shown in 7.1 Dolby Digital Surround are shown Below.

About Our Business
Black Mesa Twin Cinema is a movie theater located on the Navajo Nation in Kayenta, AZ. This is the First of the Goen Cinemas Family
We are here to provide Quality 1st and 2nd run movie entertainment on the Navajo Nation.
The theater has been servicing the Navajo Nation since the year 2000.
We have Premiered movies including the Blockbuster hit Windtalkers. We worked with Sheephead Films a Native run company publicizing their film Mile Post 398.
We have also worked with Holt Hamilton Productions in Premiering Native American Titles such as: Turquoise Rose, Pete & Cleo, Blue Gap Boy'z, and Legends from the Sky.

Goen Cinemas Tuba City became the second Theater to Join The Family. Working together with the Navajo Nation Shopping Center, the project started working on the theater in January 2015. After many ups and downs we were finally able to Open with one screen on December 11, 2015 with Hotel Transylvania 2 and bringing Star Wars: The Force Awakens Back to the Navajo Nation with Black Mesa Twin Cinemas and Goen Cinemas Window Rock. The Second Screen was opened on January 22, 2016. The Theater is Currently Managed By Tiffany Tsinnie
Goen Cinemas Window Rock became the third Theater to Join The Family. Work started on this theater in July 2015. We opened on December 18th, 2015 with a special showing of Star Wars: A New Hope in the Navajo Language with an Opening Celebration. That Evening We Opened to the public with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The Theater is Currently Managed by Tom Ranger.
